GOOD QUESTIONS

Curiosity is
the starting point.

A few things to know before you follow the trail.

Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. The book and companion are designed for readers aged 12 and up with no coding experience. Start with Activity 01 and work at your own pace.

Do I need to buy the book to use the website?

No. All 12 activities and three games are freely available. The book supplies the full mystery and chapter-by-chapter teaching context.

Do I need to install Python?

No. The activities and standalone Python playground run real Python 3 in your browser using Pyodide. To use downloaded .py files separately, install Python 3 on your computer.

Where is my progress saved?

In this browser on this device. There is no account or automatic cloud sync. Export a progress file from Your progress to move drafts and completed activities to another browser. Clearing browser data can remove your progress.

Does my code leave my device?

This site runs your activity code on your device and does not upload it. The Python engine and pages download from the website. Avoid entering passwords or other private information into practice programs.

Does it work on a phone?

You can read, play and edit on a phone. A laptop or tablet with a keyboard is easier for longer programs. A modern browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly is needed to run Python.

Why is the first run slower?

The first run downloads and starts the Python engine. Later runs use the browser cache where available. You can read the lessons while it loads.

What does completed mean?

Your program produced the activity’s expected output. This is a useful checkpoint, not a grade or proof of mastery. Try the extension and explain your changes to deepen your understanding.
